Atlas notes

Linen dials and engine-turned bezels were the dress-watch vocabulary of the 1960s, and Baltany has put both on a 36mm case for about the price of a night out. The proportions are the sensible part: 43.5mm lug to lug, 11.5mm thick, on a 20mm lug width that takes aftermarket straps without drama.

Baltany’s product page lists AR-coated sapphire, 100m of water resistance, and a five-link Jubilee style bracelet with a safety fold-over clasp. That is a better parts list than the money suggests. The price itself is slippery: the product page says $250, the maker’s own blog post says USD 210. I have given you the band rather than pick one.

Now the part I do not like. The movement depends on the variant you click: a Japanese NH35 or a Seagull ST2130. Those are different machines with different reputations, and the page publishes no power reserve, no frequency and no word on hacking or hand-winding. It also gives no launch date. If you are paying for a mechanical heart, you should be told which one is in the box before you pay.

My judgment: the case and bracelet are the reason to look, and the movement is the reason to read the variant name twice. The Orient Bambino 38 is the safer dress automatic at a similar price. The Tissot Gentleman costs well over twice as much and gets you 80 hours and a service network. If the linen dial is what you want, this is the cheap way to get it.
